Suddenly at the Quinte Health Care, Belleville General Hospital, Belleville, on Friday, August 23, 2013. Alan Osborne, age 71 of Bancroft, was the beloved husband of Brenda (Mawdsley) Osborne. Loving father of Sonia Paul (Don) of Peterborough, and Rob Birch (Mark Stevens) of British Columbia. Loved grandfather of Sarah, Rudy and Riely. Brother of Ron Osborne (Julia) of Peterborough, and Bob Osborne (Fran) of Oakville. Son-in-law of Jean Mawdsley and the late Russell, and brother-in-law of Janet Mawdsley all of Peterborough. Alan was the Music Director of the Hastings Community Choir and was a faithful organist at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for over 16 years. Alan’s family will receive relatives and friends at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church (196 Bridge Street, Bancroft) on Monday 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place at the church on Tuesday Morning 10:00 – 12 Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 12 Noon with Rev. Patrick M. Dobec presiding. Cremation to follow at Lakefield Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Prostate Cancer Canada or Our Lady of Mercy Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
