It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of Joy Frances Angevine on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Joy Angevine, age 82, formerly of Benoir Lake and Harcourt. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie (2007), sister Ruby, daughter-in-law Louise. She was born in Halifax and was the daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Johnston. She lived most of her life in Ontario with her husband Charlie managing an apartment complex. She was very active in the church and did a lot of volunteer work. After recovering from having the Gillian Brae virus she became an active spokesperson for the association and helped a lot of people. After returning home to NS she assisted in church services in nursing and seniors homes. She was a member of Emmanuel Anglican Church of Spryfield. She will be loved and missed by her daughters Susan, Lynn, and her sons: Warren, Paul, Roy, and many grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 31th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at TK Barnard Funeral Home (3460 Dutch Village Road, Halifax). A Funeral Service will take place at Emmanuel Anglican Church Spryfield, (322 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax) on Thursday, August 01, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Relf officiating. Interment, Sandhill Cemetery, Nine Mile River, N.S. The family would like to give special thanks to palliative care nurse Angela Mac Fadden and all the Doctors and nurses of TCU 4th floor of the Dartmouth General Hospital. Joy loved them all.
