Peacefully, at Hospice North Hastings, Bancroft, on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Karen Barchan age 66, of Highland Grove, was the loving wife of Mark Slawski. Loved mother of Darlene Shaw (Jeff) of Grand Valley, and Robert Yates (Ann Lewis) of Iron Bridge. Grandmother of Jason Shaw, Alan Shaw, Stewart Yates, and Billie Reardon. Sister of William Eade of Bobcaygeon, and sister-in-law of Sharon Travis. Aunt of Tobi Labram, Torun Labram, and great-aunt of Elise, Mya and Josh Labram. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium. A Celebration of Karen’s Life will take place at the Highland Grove Community Centre on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice North Hastings would be appreciated by the family.
