Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital, Bancroft, on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Jack Murdock, in his 77th year, was the beloved husband of Lucy (Cenzura) for 53 years. Much loved father to Todd (Wendy), loving grandfather to Ashleigh, Michelle and Matthew. He will be sadly missed by his sister Sandra Betts (Allan), cousin Dorothy Anderson (Jack), nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents George and Mary (Picoskie) Murdock and by his sister Gloria McMeekin. Jack worked at the Ministry of natural Resources-Harkness Laboratory of Fisheries Research, Lake Opeongo fro more than 37 years. The family wishes to thank the staff at Peterborough Hospital, Lakeridge Cancer Centre and North Hastings Hospital for their exceptional care. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (10 Post St., Whitney) on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Moses Nwosu presiding. Interment of Jack’s cremated remains at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery, Whitney in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Martin of Tours Building Fund or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
