Suddenly, at the Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital, on Monday, March 11, 2013. John Gallagher, age 57, of Peterborough, was the loved son of Dan Gallagher of Maynooth, and the late Joan (Flynn) Gallagher (2008). Loving father of Michael Gallagher of Peterborough and Bonnie Gallagher (Joe) of Scarborough. Loved brother of the late Pat Gallagher (2008) (Betty), James Gallagher, Kathleen Willis (Jamie), Danny Gallagher (Penny), Terry Gallagher, and Eileen Khodkar (Ahmad). Uncle of Tim Gallagher (Paula), Shannon Gallagher (Peter) and Simon Khodkar. Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. John was a very proud father, an avid fisherman. He was fearless and loved his family and friends. He had a lot of integrity, who would give anyone what he had, if they asked. John was born and raised in Maynooth, and he lived in Peterborough, but Maynooth was always home. John’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Ignatius Martyr Parish Hall (Hwy 127, Maynooth) on Thursday 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Road, Maynooth) on Friday morning 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Moses Nwosu presiding. Cremation to follow at Lakefield Crematorium. John’s Ashes will be interred in St. Ignatius Martyr Cemetery in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
