Passed away in his sleep, at his home, after a lengthy illness, on Friday, January 25, 2013. James Griffith, age 72, was born in Oshawa, and was the beloved husband of Sigrun (Kohnert) Griffith for 50 years. Father and father-in-law of Jim and Kim. James will be fondly remembered by his daughter Vicky. Predeceased by his daughter Susan. Left behind are his grandchildren; Heidi, Colleen and Trina. Survived by his sister Vicki and family. He will be sadly missed by many family, pets and friends. After 32 years of Military Service, James retired to his favourite spot on Baptiste Lake. He spent a lot of time as a Volunteer Fire Fighter, with Search and Rescue, and as a foster parent for H.A.R.T. and Home Again. There will be no visitation at this time. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium. A Celebration of James’ Life will take place this summer.
