Peacefully, at Hospice North Hastings, Bancroft, on Sunday, January 06, 2013. Donald Reid, age 78 of Bancroft, was the beloved husband of Della (Vader) Reid, and the late Marilyn (Hayton) Reid. Son of the late John and Marguerite (Lindsay) Reid. Loving father of Jack (Teresa) Reid of Cargill, Kathy Reid of Huntsville, Pam Reid (Henry) of Emsdale, Tracy Reid (Scott) of Angus. Step-father of Stephen (Lois) Wight of Havelock, Brenda (Richard) Henderson of Campbellford, and Eleanor Wight of Havelock. Predeceased by his step-sons Bryon and James, and his daughter-in-law Marilyn. Brother and brother-in-law of Maxine Reid, Fay Jeffery, Fern Rutledge, Jeanette Reid, Jean (Joe) Fortin, Bob (Joanne) Reid, Bill (Marie) Reid, Marie (Greg) Rosniek, and Marlene (Mike) Moore. Predeceased by Dorothy and Joe Martin, Doreen and Gordon Fester, John Reid, Bill Jeffrey, Inner Rutledge, Glenn Reid, and Joan and Joe Musclow. Sadly missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Donald’s family will receive relatives and friends at Community Fellowship Baptist Church (29754 Hwy 62N., Bird’s Creek) on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service for Donald will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Wes Hill officiating. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice North Hastings would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
