Passed away suddenly at the Blue Moon Retreat, Purdy, on Friday, September 09, 2011. Patrick Hickey, age 67, was the beloved husband for 41 years of Fran (Skebo) Hickey. Loved father of Terry (Bruna) of Etobicoke, Danny (Jasmira) of Switzerland, and Kevin (Tiffany) of Oshawa. Loving grandfather of Liam, Michaela, Rosa Maria, Jose Angel, Ronan and Corbin. Brother of Raymond, Tom, Marie, Joan, Kathleen, Colleen, Margie, and Bonnie. Predeceased by his parents William Matthew and Theresa (Connellan) Hickey, and his brothers Bill and Maurice. Patrick will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends around the globe. Patrick owned and operated the Blue Moon Retreat & Resort in Purdy, and worked for General Motors for over 40 years in Canada, Venezuela, Spain and Switzerland. Patrick’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Ignatius Martyr Parish Hall (51 Hwy 127, Maynooth) on Wednesday 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jim Beanish presiding. Immediately afterwards please join us at the Army Navy Air Force Maynooth for a celebration of Pat's life. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Maynooth Food Bank, or Friends of Algonquin Park would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.
