Leveque, John Michael "Jack"

A beautiful persons’ life has come to its end on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay, following a valiant struggle with lung cancer.   Jack Leveque, in his 67th year, is survived by his loving life partner, Alexandra Vanderland (Shu), his devoted sons Jerry (Micheline) and Tim (Kelly), four beautiful grandchildren, Riana, Gabrielle, Holly and Sam, his extended family Koby Lahaie (Andre), Kathleen, Kayla, Jamie and Liam. Predeceased by his parents, Philip (PJ) and Lulu Leveque (Flynn), his brothers Tom, Louis, William and his sister Phyllis (Thomas). He is survived by his loving sisters Norine Helferty (Dorienn), Rita Murray (Dowdall), Marion Cannon (Brian), and his brothers Jim and Patrick (Nora). He will be greatly missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, loyal friends and co-workers. Jack was a Maynooth boy from cradle to grave. To him there was no better place in the world to be from and nowhere more beautiful to spend an eternity. He will ever be remembered as a man who loved his family, loved his business, and was devoted to his church. Along with his sons he built a successful business, he was a philanthropist, giving generously to every community in which he lived, helping so many people to realize their dreams.  And yet he remained a modest and unassuming man who took nothing for granted; he was truly grateful for all of his blessings.  Jack always had a positive outlook on life, a great sense of honour, and a brilliant sense of humour. His smile would melt your heart. And that smile was particularly large when he was raking in his winnings at the card table and congratulating himself for ‘living right’.  Jack’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church (55 Hwy #127, Maynooth) on Monday 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church on Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ken O’Brien presiding.  Interment,  St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Cemetery.   As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.  (Cards available at the funeral home (613) 338-3259 or e-mail condolences to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or visit www.mgdalyfuneralhome.com).
