Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay, on Monday, April 04, 2011. Ben Lynch, age 81, of Whitney, was the beloved husband of Iona (Higgison) Lynch. Loving father of Janice Walter (Brad), Bart Lynch (Janet), Phillip Lynch (Linda) and Kelvin Lynch (Lisa). Loved Papa of Nicole, Derek, Matthew, Amy, Michael, Shannon, Benjamin, Quianna, Adam, Cody, and Amber. Great-Papa of Christopher, Ryan, Ryder, Cameron and Kimberly. Brother-in-law of Emily, John, (Carol), Frank, Pat (Ruby), Ed (Janet), and Marilyn (Keith). Predeceased by Hazel, Floyd, and Mary. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Also fondly remembered by Ben’s extended family The Dumas; Adriene, Vince (Inis),Lois, Norma, Anastasia (Les), Barb, Shirley, and Pat. Predeceased by Bev, Lucian, Velma, Jack, Lorraine, Fred, Lawrence, Peter, and Thelma. Ben’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (Post St., Whitney) on Friday 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church on Saturday, April 09, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jim Beanish presiding. Interment, St. Martin of Tours Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Martin of Tours Building Fund or St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
