On November 26, 2023, at the age of 94, Edward passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years, Elsie (Gorgerat) and their children Patricia Kujtan, Linda McCoy (Ron), Debbie McDonald (Gary), David Ciehanskie (Connie), Pauline Ciehanskie and Lorraine Ciehanskie. Edward was a proud and loving grandpa to Gerry McCoy, Mathew McCoy, Jessica McDonald, Rhonny-Lynn McCoy, Nicole Kujtan, Christopher McDonald, Shane Ciehanskie, Lauren Minnie, Charlotte Ciehanskie and Sophia Quesnel. As well as a great-grandpa to Zion Peart, Arianna Peart, Dallas Peloski, Demetry McDonald and Skyler Pelegerin. Born and raised in Sabine, Ontario. He worked in the lumber camps at a very young age. He helped build the highways in this area and retired from General Motors. Edward could turn his hand to almost anything, carpentry, mechanical or electrical, and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and the camaraderie of friends who shared these activities with him. He was always happy to be in the bush. Cutting wood, maintaining trails, tapping trees and making syrup. He was a man who led by example. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family. Gone yet not forgotten. Although we are apart. Your spirit lives within us. Forever in our hearts. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Parish, 41 Post St, Whitney, ON, K0J 2M0 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Parish at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at McCoy Lake Cemetery Whitney, ON.
