Peacefully, surrounded by love, at The Ottawa General Hospital, Ottawa, on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Owen Parkhurst, age 18, was the loving son of Terry and Crystal (Dillabough) Parkhurst of Braeside. Loving brother of Kristin, Jordan, and Jackson. Loved grandson of Sharon and Cameron Dillabough of Bancroft, and Margaret and Terry Parkhurst of Ottawa. Great-grandson of Jean Dillabough of Bancroft. Nephew of Michael (Tammy), Amanda (Jerry), Billy, and Brandi. Survived by his many cousins and friends. Fondly remembered by his special friend Lilly Gordon. Owen was finishing his final year at the Arnprior District High School and was completing his co-op with Tomlinson Construction. Owen was active in sports and had played competitive basketball with Valley Pride and he was very proud he was going to be assistant coaching with his brother’s basketball team. He was a social butterfly, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Owen’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle (311 Hastings St. N., Bancroft), on Saturday, November 04, 2023, from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Theobald officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an athletic award being established in Owen's honour at his school, Arnprior District High School, The Owen Parkhurst Best Sportsmanship Award.
