Peacefully, at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre, Kingston, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.  Merle Scott Sr., age 73 of Maynooth, was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Scott (1999) and the late Jennifer (Williamson) Scott (2016).  Loved father of Merle Scott (Carol), Pattie Hogan (Tom), Donald Scott, and Judy Sleeper (Marvin).  Loving grandfather of Annie Dawson (James), Blair, Tanya, and Keith.  Great-grandfather of Wyatt, Freya, and Alayna.  Brother of Archie Scott (Brenda), Mable Stamplecoski (Wayne), and John Scott (Shirley).  Predeceased by his parents Guy and Nellie Scott, and his siblings George Scott (Joan), Millie Simpson (Don), Penny Olexiuk (Wallie), Vera Walker (Ken), Anne Niemi (Bill), Jean Campbell (Ross), Norman Scott, Charlie Scott, and Edna Scott.  Loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and friends.  Merle was employed with the lumber industry for many years, loved wrenching on cars, and loved to draw.  He will be missed.  Cremation has taken place.  Merle’s family will receive relatives and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Road, Maynooth), on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Garry Robinson officiating.  Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bancroft.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to Alzheimers Society of Hastings-Prince Edward would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
