Peacefully, at Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital, Bancroft, on Wednesday, October 04, 2023. David McGarry, age 81 of Bancroft, was the beloved husband of Mary Lynn (Sirosky) McGarry. Loving father of Laura Ann Childs, (late Vince), Blaine McGarry (Rochelle) and Stephanie McGarry. Loved grandfather of Mathiew, Colleen, Andrew and Sarah. Brother of Thomas McGarry, Francis McGarry (Janice), Marion Gill, and the late Robert, Joan, Claire, and Margaret. Brother-in-law of Bernard Sirosky (Marlene), Fr. Terry Sirosky, Sheila Giroux (Ameilan), Patricia Durling (Arthur), and the late George, Robert, Jerome and Lois. Survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Dave was the owner/operator of the V&S Stedmans store in Bancroft. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He loved to hunt and fish. He will be missed by many. David’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School gymnasium (192 Bridge St. W., Bancroft) on Sunday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Parish prayers and the Rosary will be recited at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, on Monday, October 09, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Interment, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, Bancroft.
