Born December 01, 1936, in Highland Grove to Evelyna and William Andrews. Allan was the youngest of seven children: Frank, Audrey, Evelyn, Ken, Myrtle, and Nadeen. Allan was born on the Andrews homestead in Highland Grove, ON. He worked at G.W. Martin Lumber for 31 years. Allan met Linda (Hogan) and they married on January 14, 1961. They welcomed Wanda (Kevin), Glen (Andrea), and Pam (Darrin). Allan and Linda enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Allan was a faithful member of Harcourt Community Church throughout his life, and he knew and took comfort that he would be reuniting with many relatives and friends. Allan was an expert on living off the land, growing, harvesting and utilizing what God provided. He had a love of Bluegrass music, and many wonderful years playing guitar for a variety of occasions. Allan has 7 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Allan struggled with, and in the end, lost his battle with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), at the Quinte Health Care North Hastings Hospital, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. Allan’s family will receive relatives and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Road, Maynooth) on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will take place at Deer Lake Cemetery (5872 Loop Road, Highland Grove) on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Harcourt Community Chapel would be appreciated by the family.
