Peacefully, at Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care, Barry’s Bay, on Sunday, June 11, 2023.  Camilla Sawyer, age 80 of Whitney, was the beloved wife of Faron Sawyer and the late Nicholas Kmith (1975).  Loving mother of Sherry Browne (Rick), Lisa Hovinga (Pernell), Krista Kmith, and Tanielle Sawyer (Jeff).  Predeceased by her son John.  Beloved grandmother of Brandon (Miranda), Brianne (Josh), Jeremy (Kaitlyn), Kelsey (Trent), Tiffany (Jim), Elizabeth (Quinn), Stephen, Kyra and Kailey.  Great-grandmother of Jacoby, Karsyn, Ava, Layne, Jayme, Karlie and James.  Sister of Marguerite Levean (Ed) and Ali Charest (Gary), and the late Terry, Arthur, Eugene, and Thelma.  Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.  Camilla taught school for many years and tutored many local students.  She was a member of the CWL for over 50 years, and her home was open to everyone.  Camilla had a love of nature and gardening and Ice cream! She had an amazing voice, loved singing, and played the guitar, piano and accordion. She will be missed.  Camilla’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church Hall (10 Post Street, Whitney, on Monday, June 19, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 -9:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Interment in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Cemetery (McCoy Lake), Whitney.
