Cunliffe, The Reverend Darlene Frances

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Rev Darlene Cunliffe (nee MacGillivary),in Pembroke Hospital surrounded by her family, on Friday, March 18, 2022.  Born in Toronto Ontario. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Mona MacGillivary.  Loving wife and best friend of William Cunliffe. Devoted mother to Shawn Morrison (Debbie), Laura Slade (Mark), Patti Prince (Jamie) and Mark Cunliffe. Wonderful Stepmother to Rob Cunliffe (Lori) and Tanya Cunliffe (Paul).  Darlene will be severely missed by her grandchildren Cole Morrison, Raven Prince (Zack), Tyler Cunliffe, Savanna Slade (Phelan), Shawna Morrison, Madison Slade, Blake Prince, Cody Cummerson, Zoe Prince, Thomas Cummerson, Ashley Mersereau and Brad Mersereau. Darlene devoted her life to her family, community, and Church. She was a Registered Practical Nurse at the Brantford General hospital for 25+ years. She felt her calling to Christ and obtained her Masters of Divinity at the University of Western Ontario. The Reverend Darlene Cunliffe was a lifelong faithful servant of the Lord having served the church’s ministry as a devoted Server, chorister, Girl Guide leader, lay reader, deacon and priest in several parishes and dioceses. She enriched the lives of all who knew her always tending to the needs of others before herself.

A special thank you to the ICU Nurses and Doctors at Pembroke Regional Hospital and St. Francis Memorial Hospital ED in Barry’s Bay. Your wonderful care of our mother and compassion for our family will never be forgotten. Darlene will be missed by many cousins and extended family. We can never truly say goodbye, we say tah tah for now.

Darlene’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Anglican Parish of North Hastings (21 Flint Street, Bancroft) on Friday, April 01, 2022, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Strict Covid restrictions will be in place – Masks, Proof of Vaccination or a negative rapid test (administered on site) will be in place.  A Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Saturday, April 02, 2022, at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle, 311 Hastings St. N., Bancroft, ON at 1:30 p.m. with The Rt. Rev. Bishop Michael Oulton presiding. Covid restrictions will be in place – Masking and distancing.  Cremation will follow. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Brant Navel Veterans’ Association, 54 Wadsworth St. Brantford, ON from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Save the Children, or the Ontario SPCA would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.
