White, Allen Dale

 August 25th, 1952 – January 5th, 2022

After a full life lived caring for his family, friends, and the land that was so much a part of him, our favourite person has left us. Regardless of the situation, Dale met his days with laughter, gratitude, and deep love for all who were important to him. He was a dedicated farmer at heart although his devotion to the welfare of his family took him elsewhere for a time. His days were made full and complete by the addition of a crew of grandbuddies and great grandbuddies who doted on their Poppie, alongside their parents, his children, and his best friend and wife, Heather. On Wednesday January 5th, 2022 surrounded by his family, Dale passed peacefully, and took a piece of our hearts with him.

Dale will be remembered as a long drive and Coe Hill Fair enthusiast, storyteller, history keeper and homestead renovator. We will miss seeing him in his favourite colours (plaid on plaid); his infectious laugh, quick wit, and penchant to tease anyone and everyone nearby; his love of butter tarts, and New Year's Eve; his deep knowledge of the area; and his love of his home town, the people who live/lived here, and the countless friendships he made over the years. All of us have fond memories of endless stories, laughter, and debates sitting around the kitchen table or at L'Amable Lunch, having a coffee with Dale...and these memories will keep us going in the days ahead.

Dale is survived by his wife and best friend Heather (nee Boyes) and his children, Angela (Matt), Allen (Amberly), Rebecca (Edison) and Leslie (Ben), Grandchildren, Emily (Gaige), Cole, Caleb, Eloise, Ethan, Maizie, Lincoln, Theodore and Great Grandchildren Sophie and Ronin.  His children and grandchildren will remember his love, pride and the mischievous twinkle in his eye.

Dale joins his parents Calvin and Beulah White and leaves behind his siblings; Bruce (Betty), Linda, Bill, Beth, Sharon (Don), Steve (Bev), Bonnie, Tom (Jackie), LeeAnn (Barry), Dan (Catherine) and many nieces, nephews, and their families, as well as White Family aunts, uncles, and cousins. His quick wit and laughter will be missed by many at the White Reunion.

The family of Allen & Frances Boyes will be saving a seat for him at their table, and his sisters- and brothers-in-law will miss the jokes, stories, and great hugs he always had ready to share. Cindy (Rod), Jen, Krista (Gary), George (Wendy), Leah (Dwayne), and their children and grandchildren are grateful that Dale was a part of the family and will miss him.

We are grateful for all the cards, emails, phone calls, and texts that you have shared with us as we grieve. We feel uplifted by all the expressions of love, care, and support from our families and community.

A memorial and tree planting will be held in May 2022, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hartsmere Cemetery.

The family thanks BGH ICU for their care and compassion. Thank you also to all of the doctors, alternative health care workers, Daly's Funeral Home, The Elders, and others who worked with us over these past months.
