 The Man, the Myth, the Legend

Peacefully, at his home in Bancroft, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, June 08, 2021.  Walter Young, age 76, was the beloved husband of Sherry Beverly Young.  Father to Kathleen Young (Tiny Tim), Chandra Bolton (Jeff), and Chrystine Young (Leith Davis).  Stepfather to Mellissa MacDonald (Matty) and Anna Hall (Darren).Grandfather of Dustin McColl, Erica Davidson (Rob), Jessica Jennings (Ciran), Jeffrey Bolton and Elizabeth-Lynn Bolton.  Step-grandfather of Mathew, Connor, Emily, Logan, Brandon, Eric, Megan, and great-grandfather to William, Diathi, Cillian, and Tadhg.  Predeceased by his parents Walter and Betty Young, his sister Shirley Black, and his grandson Christopher Young.  A special thank you to Marion Sutherland, sister-in-law, for all her love and support and butter tarts.  A great thank you to Peterborough Regional Health centre for their exceptional care until we were able to bring Walter home.  A special thank you to the VON and Hillary Towns, care coordinator, for preparing his home for Walter’s last days.  Thanks to Wayne and Eileen Sutherland, Shirley Bolton, Tammy Scott, and Leith Davis for providing food and support.  Thank you also to Michael Daly for his assistance at this time.  Thank you to everyone who visited, shared stories and talked with Walter.  Walter owned Ramsay Electrical Services and was a member of IBEW 894 Oshawa as well as a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion.  He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He will be sadly missed by all.  At this time, there will be no visitation or funeral services.  Cremation has taken place, with interment of Walter’s Ashes in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bancroft, at a later date.   As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Canadian Cancer Society – Relay for Life, would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
