Passed away in Maynooth, on Friday, March 12, 2021. Kevin Smith, age 52 of Brechin, was the loving partner of Kimberley Murphy. Loved son of Luella (Watt) Smith and the late Douglas of Maynooth. Brother of Rodney, David (Josie) and Karen (Glen). Son-in-law of Gerry and Glenys Murphy of Fenelon Falls, and brother-in-law of Gerry Murphy (Carolyn) and Terry Murphy (Lynda). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Kevin was pet dad of Sugar, Daytona, Misty and Wilson. Kevin worked for Lafarge for many years and was a volunteer firefighter in Kirkfield. He was a general “Mr. Fix-it”, with a great mechanical aptitude. Kevin loved his happy place, which was his trailer in Maynooth, and loved hunting, fishing and his side-by-side. He was a hard worker who had a quiet sense of humour and a willingness to always help others. Kevin’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle (311 Hastings St., N., Bancroft) on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. A private family Funeral Service will follow with Pastor John Riley officiating. Cremation will follow at Lakefield Crematorium. Due to COVID-19, strict visitation and service restrictions will be in place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to H.A.R.T. (Highlands Animal Relief Team) would be appreciated by the family.
