Peacefully, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay, on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Ernest Gorgerat, age 83 of Whitney, was the beloved husband of Elva (Dupuis) Gorgerat. Loved father of Catherine Tompkins of Bancroft. Dear Papa of Amanda (Rob), and Stewart (Jessica). Great-grandfather of Hailey, Riley, Ciarah, Freddie and Mariah. Cremation has taken place. Ernest’s family received relatives and friends at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (Post Street, Whitney) on Sunday evening, November 17, 2019, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service took place at St. Anthony’s Anglican Church (131 Church Hill St., Whitney) on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Michael Bird officiating. Interment to take place at Union Cemetery, Whitney. As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
