(Fondly known to his family and friends as Derek or “D”) Peacefully, at his home in Bancroft on Monday, May 07, 2007. He was the son of Dieter and Hannah Jost of Toronto and brother to Rita and Rhinehart. The inseparable and beloved life partner of Laurie Gough. He was a terrific step father to Melissa, Megan, Shawn and Michael. A wonderful grandfather to Johnny, Katrina, Stephen, Brandon, Jade, Shannon, Devon and Austin. Dietrich made his living as a self-employed painter for over 20 years in the Bancroft area. He was known to be quick and skilfull on his jobsite endeavors. Dietrich became very involved with the NA program over the last three years. He opened his home to host meetings to welcome and support the friends who shared his life and recovery. Dietrich’s love for life showed when he was surrounded by his dearest friends Penny, David and Coreen. To know Dietrich with all his loyalty, charm and wit, you were truly blessed. Cremation has taken place.The family will receive relatives and friends at St. John’s Anglican Church on Friday, May 11, 2007, from 10 – 11 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m., with interment of Dietrich’s Ashes in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bancroft. Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
