Surrounded by his family and peacefully at home, on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Steve Hickey, age 58, was the beloved husband of Marie (Soper) Hickey. Loving father of Cindy (Jamie Campbell), Julie and Christine. Son of the late Aloysius and Mary (Flynn) Hickey. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Helen Hillier, Ambrose (Rose Marie), Edmund (Maureen), Jack (Maureen), Aloysius (Mary), Mary Donnelly (Pat), Rita Shephard (Bill), Frank (Barb), Paul, Cyril (Glenda), Vivian Miles (Earl), Melvin Soper, Eugene Soper, Diane Soper, and Cherry Soper. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Reg. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation for Stephen will take place at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Rd., Maynooth) on Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church (96 Bridge St. W., Bancroft) on Monday December 20, 2010 at 12 Noon., with Rev. Patrick M. Dobec presiding. Spring interment at St. Ignatius Martyr Cemetery, Maynooth. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to Nature Conservancy Canada (www.natureconservancy.ca), North Hastings Community Cupboard, or Our Lady of Mercy Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
