Surrounded by his family, at the Quinte Health Care, North Hastings Hospital, Bancroft, on Saturday, November 20, 2010. George Ivany, age 83, was the beloved husband of Gladys (Mayhew) Ivany, and the late Theopesti (Todou) Ivany (1981). Loved father of Helen Ivany, Sharon Kaehler and her husband Chris, Mary Lynn Rutledge and her husband Bernie and Patti Robinson and her husband Boyd. Loving grandfather, of Dakota, Montanna, Michael, Sophia, Angela (Michael) and Eric (Jill). Great-grandfather of Lukas and Ally. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Leon Ivany and his wife Louise, Alice Ralph, Barbara Layland and her husband Norman, and Wilson Shepphard. Predeceased by his brother Earl Ivany, his sister Elna Shepphard, and brother-in-law Harold Ralph. George’s family will receive relatives and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Rd., Maynooth) on Monday evening 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place at the Word of Life Outreach Church (Hwy 127, Lake St. Peter) on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for George will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike West officiating. Interment, Emmanuel Cemetery, Maynooth. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the George Ivany Memorial Fund, c/o Word of Life Outreach, would be appreciated by the family.
