It is with great sadness we share that Bill McMurray has passed on Monday, February 23, 2026, in Elliot Lake, ON at the age of 90. Bill was the beloved husband of the late Marcella McMurray (Burkitt). Loving father of Debbie Bay of Calgary and Sonya (Dan) Tennisco of Ajax. Cherished Grandfather of Edward (Kelly) Bay, the late Jonathan Bay (2002) and Jason Tennisco. Great grandfather of Austin Bay, Matthew Bay, Zak Bay, Jonathan Bay, Edith Bay and Adeline Bay. Bill was a brother to Amos, Doug, Carolyne, Gladys, Betty, and Joan. Predeceased by his parents David LeRoy and Ila (Gunter) McMurray and his siblings Don, Marie, Myrtle, David, Richard, Bill, Ruth, Royetta, Andy, Keitha, Paul and Sheila. Brother-in-law of John (Ruth) Burkitt, Bob (Pat) Clarke, Betty McMurray, Helen McMurray, Garland (Eleanor) Burkitt and Ruby Cross. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Mount Zion Church (42 Weslemkoon Lake Rd., Gilmour, Ontario) on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 10:00 – 12:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Don McMurray officiating. Interment to take place in the spring at Gilmour Cemetery.
