August 15, 1940 – January 13, 2026 George Edward Ward passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by love and the memories of a life well lived. George was a proud and simple man with the kindest soul—someone who loved deeply and lived quietly, finding his greatest joy in the people and places closest to his heart. Above all else, George loved his family. He was devoted to his beloved wife, Ann Marie Ward, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, having wed on May 22, 1965. Their life together was built on love, loyalty, and companionship. George was a proud father to his daughter Lisa Ward and to his son George, who predeceased him. He was a loving grandfather to Jessica, who brought him immense pride and happiness. He was also cherished by his loyal dog Finnigan, who rarely left his side. George was a true homebody who never needed much in the way of material things. He loved his home and his life on Baptiste Lake, enjoying nature, friendly neighbors, quiet routines, and playing cards. George was a loving son to his parents, Percy Ward (father, deceased) and Louise Ward (Stephenson) (mother, deceased); his sister Eileen (deceased); his brother John (deceased); and his in-laws Donny (deceased), Bobby(deceased), and Marion (deceased). He is lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Shirley and her family; his brothers Gordon and Jim; his sister-in-law Catherine (Butch); his brother-in-law Earl (Carolyn);his father-in-law Vincent Hickey; his mother-in-law Agnes Hickey (Freeman); and his nieces Julie, Victoria, and Meaghan. He is also remembered by extended family, neighbors on the lake, and friends near and far. George will be remembered as a gentle, steady presence—a man of quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
