December 18, 1934 – November 15, 2025 Irene Mask, wife of the late Benedict Prince (1975) and the late Thomas Mask (2022), found rest in the Lord’s arm on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Marianhill Nursing Home, Pembroke. She was 90.
She is survived by her son Richard Prince (Greta), and daughters Brenda Sabatine (Brian) and Joyce Prince (Pat, deceased 2018) as well as her son-in-law Ken Lehovitch (Charlotte, deceased 2021), in addition to 9 Grandchildren, Tracy, Clint, Chris, Cecile, Kelly, Julie Ann, Casey, Ben and Kayla, and 15 Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Helen (Olsheski) and John F. Lapinski, daughter Charlotte and brother Nicholas.
Irene was a stay at home mom and bookkeeper for her first husband’s autobody mechanic business until his passing. Following his death she took on several jobs to support her children until the opportunity to return to school presented itself. In 1978, she began her career as a Health Care Aid at the newly opened Valley Manor Nursing Home in Barry’s Bay retiring in the mid 1990’s.
As per Irene’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church, Barry’s Bay, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025. Following cremation, a private interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
The family would appreciate that any expressions of sympathy be made in the form of a donation to the Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care or the Ottawa and Renfrew County Dementia Society.
