February 8, 1961 – July 28, 2025 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brenda Colleen Harley on July 28, 2025, at the age of 64, after an extended illness. Brenda passed peacefully at Lakeridge Health Ajax Hospital, having resided at The Village of Taunton Mills long-term care home in Whitby, Ontario, for the past three and a half years. Born in Bancroft, Ontario, Brenda also lived in Timmins, Matheson, and Niagara during her lifetime. She was a proud participant in ARC Industries programs, where she took part in Terry Fox Runs as well as Special Olympics activities - including bowling, where she won numerous trophies that she cherished. Brenda loved attending dances with her friends at Community Living and was known for her radiant smile, gentle spirit, and passion for singing country music. Brenda lived a full and joyful life, surrounded by the love of family, friends, and the communities she belonged to. She spent her days knitting, singing, caring for her many nieces and nephews, and bringing happiness to those around her. Her warmth and kindness created lasting connections with everyone she met. Brenda is lovingly remembered by her devoted mother, Sharon Harley, who cared for her throughout her life; her brother William Harley (Ruth) and her sisters, Kathy Hickey (Gary) and Melissa Harley. She is predeceased by her father Nelson Harley and her brother Fredrick Harley. Brenda also leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins, each of whom shared a special bond with her. She was truly loved by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the music, laughter, and love she shared so generously. The gates of Heaven opened wide And the angels lined up side by side A special gift was on it's way The day God took her home to stay." Brenda’s family will receive relatives and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Road, Maynooth) on Friday August 01, 2025, from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bancroft. A reception will follow at Bancroft Pentecostal Church, Bancroft. As expressions of sympathy, donations to A Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
