May 1, 1962 – April 7, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Victor “Dic” Neale, who was born on May 1, 1962, in Peterborough, Ontario. Dic was the youngest of eight children born to Hawley Neale and Roberta Mills. Dic is survived by his cherished children, Holly and Shawn (Amber), and lovingly known as Papa to Olivia and Allison. He was also a proud bonus Papa to granddaughters Ava and Kelsey. Dic leaves behind his beloved brothers Walter (Lois) Laurie, sister in law Lyla and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his presence. He is predeceased by his siblings Frank, Diane, Sharon Lynn, Heather, and Suzanne. Dic will be forever remembered by his partner and best friend, Wendy Lorenz, and her daughters Haley and Taylor, who brought added joy and companionship to his life. A man with a deep love for his animals, Dic adored his fur babies and had a special connection with his horses. He never missed a deer season and found peace and purpose in the outdoors. In accordance with Dic’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the hall in McArthurs Mills, where family and friends are invited to share stories, memories, and laughter. Dic’s family extends their sincere gratitude to the Bayshore nurses and Dr. Meeking for the compassionate care provided during a short but difficult time. Forever in our hearts, Dic’s spirit will ride on. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Highland Animal Relief Team (H.A.R.T.) would be appreciated by the family.
