October 10, 1935 – March 21, 2025 Joan was a devoted follower of the Lord, and entered into His presence on March 21, 2025. She passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital after a very short illness. She has battled several severe illnesses over the last 2 years but faced each with remarkable resilience. Her parents were Charles Dorrell and Beatrice Dorrell (nee Dunleavy), Toronto. She was predeceased by her much beloved husband Tom Welsh, Bancroft, and their infant daughter Victoria Lynn. She was a loving mother to her daughter April (Brian Collingwood, deceased), Kingston, and son Mark (Cindy) and their daughter Emily, Bancroft. She will be remembered fondly by her two brothers, Brian (Kay), Naples, Florida and Peter (Nancy), Blacksburg, Virginia and their families. Joan had varied interests – cooking, crafting, “antiquing”. She appreciated good music and loved to sing. She and Tom were avid members of the Bancroft Mineral Society and the family spent many happy hours rock hounding. She will be dearly missed. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Jewish Voice Ministries Canada or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Rd., Maynooth, ON). A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mike West presiding. Interment will take place in the spring at Sunderland Cemetery, Sunderland, ON. Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
