Peacefully, at Quinte Health Care Belleville General Hospital, Belleville, on Thursday, February 27, 2025.  Catherine Mountney, age 87 of Bancroft, was the beloved wife for 50 years to Eugene Mountney.  Loved mother of Dale Shannick (Brenda), Carrie Shannick ( Jo-Anne), Lynn Allison (Dale), Vern Shannick (Becky), Colleen Wilkinson (Mike), and Blaine Shannick (Denise).  Predeceased by her sons Brian Shannick, and Mervin Shannick (Leona).  Loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Murial Musclow, her niece Debra Whistle, and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Catherine loved her dogs, knitting, and was an avid reader. At this time there will be no visitation or service.  Cremation has taken place, with a Celebration of Life at a later date.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to The CNIB, or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
