Evans, Dorothy Anne (Kenwell-Lamont)

Suddenly, at Quinte Health Care Belleville General Hospital, Belleville, Dorothy passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Dorothy Evans, age 85 of Coe Hill, was the beloved mother of Patricia Dion (Douglas) of Bowmanville, Jim Evans (Terry) of Aurora, and loving wife of the late Thomas Henry Evans. Proud grandmother of Trevor, Jordan, Avery, Darrell, Ricky, and Kimberly. Sister of Lorne Lamont (late Audrey), Jim Lamont (Debbie), and Bonnie Doll (Dennis). Sister-in-law of Catherine Charles (late Mort) and Carol McDonald. She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, and many friends. Predeceased by her brothers Allan Lamont (Pat), Hugh Lamont (Beverley), and first husband James L. Springett. Dorothy lived a life full of adventure, kindness, and an enduring love for the outdoors. She retired to her beloved Wollaston Lake in Coe Hill where she embraced cottage life to the fullest, enjoying boating on the lake, riding ATVs through the woods, and snowmobiling in the winter. She was raised on a farm and continued caring for animals throughout her life. She was often seen with a loyal dog by her side or tending to the birds, deer, and other wildlife that visited her doorstep. She was known for her kind and thoughtful letters, carefully hand-writing each message to be special and meaningful for her loved ones, ensuring they always felt cherished and remembered. She was an embraced and cared for member of the Coe Hill community where she will now lay at rest with her late husband Tom and husky Tia. A graveside service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Cemetery (Hwy 620 Coe Hill) on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Watson presiding.  A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
