Robert Smith passed peacefully on February 4, 2025, at the age of 65 at Bancroft Hospice. He will be sadly missed by his wife, daughters and family, his grandchildren and many friends. Robert Smith embraced a lifetime of loving memories, growing up on the beautiful farmlands of King City and spending summers cottaging at Georgian Bay. From an early age, his parents instilled in him the values of hard work, carpentry, outdoor adventure, and lifelong learning. A true outdoorsman, Robert found joy in mountain biking, snowmobiling, motorcycling, four-wheeling, swimming, camping, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. He had a deep appreciation for rural landscapes and wildlife, always seeking to understand and live in harmony with nature. Robert took great pride in designing and building a cottage with his father, as well as renovating older homes and crafting beautiful landscapes throughout rural Ontario. His legacy is one of craftsmanship, adventure, and dedication—a provider for his family and a man who lived in tune with the natural world. Our family would like to thank the medical team and staff at Bancroft Hospice for their compassionate support during Robert’s final days.
