David Lawrence Harper, age 77, of Whitney, Ontario, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 27, 2024, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay, Ontario. He was born on May 30, 1947, in Scarborough, Ontario to the late Ruby and Donald Harper. Dave, as he was known, is survived and missed by his loving wife Patricia (nee Chapeskie) of 52 years, and his children Jennifer (Matthew) and Brent. His memory will be cherished by his sister, Lynne Furniss (Robert), sister-in-law Myra Loder, three nieces and one nephew. His loss will also be felt by his three devoted grand dogs. Dave worked for the Ministry of Natural Resources for 30 years in Algonquin Park and was an avid hunter and angler. Upon retirement he entered local politics and served the Township of South Algonquin as a councillor for 16 years. There are no words that can express how grateful we are to friends and neighbours who provided support and friendship throughout Dave’s illness and a heartfelt thank you must be extended to the caring staff at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. All thoughts and prayers are appreciated by the family at this difficult time. Cremation has taken place.
