Laginski, Viola Mary (Bowers) |
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Viola on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in her 84th year. Viola persevered through many battles the last two years and is finally at peace. She will be remembered for her quick wit-. She told it as she seen it, no holds barred. She was not a wealthy woman, but was rich in what mattered most to her, her friends and family. Viola was blessed in loving friendships that spanned decades. It was those friendships that brought her comfort that she cherished to the end. She loved to be outdoors gardening, cutting grass and shovelling snow. She played a mean game of scrabble and will be forever remain the “Scrabble Queen.” Viola was an active member in her community and a devoted volunteer with her church. Left to mourn are her daughters Kim (Kevin) and Melanie (Chris), her brother Joe, sisters Joan (Rick), and Cheryl, and brother-in-law Trevor (Edna). Greatly missed by her grandchildren Samantha, Scott, Shane, and Braeden, and her great-grandchildren Percy and Henry. Viola is predeceased by her son Glenn, parents Agnes and Edward (Ned) Bowers, sister Edna, brother Ed, and great-granddaughter Agnes. Viola will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Viola’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (41 Post St., Whitney) on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12 Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12 Noon with Father Malachy Ekezie presiding. Cremation will follow, with interment at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Martin of Tours Building Fund, or The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
