Peacefully, with his family by his side after a courageous battle against cancer, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Steven Smith age 72, of Bancroft, was the beloved husband of the late Clarice (Sniderman) Smith for 52 years. Loving father of Steven (Jennifer) Smith, Christine Smith, Lisa Stewart (Marc), Sadie Smith (Aaron Westerink). Loved papa of Robert, Jessica, Kodi, Brad, Catherine, James, Mary, Brianna, Madison, A.J., Jacob, and great-papa of Brian, Amy, and Opal. Steven was the son of the late Harold (Reg) and Jane (Jean) Smith. Brother and brother-in-law of David (Sue) Smith, and Donna (Ken) Toy. Predeceased by his brother Paul, and granddaughter Michelle. Son-in-law of Joan O’Reilly (Tom), and brother-in-law of Joanne (Kenneth), Ronnie (Anna). Greatly missed but fondly remembered by his cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Steven was a devoted husband, dad, and papa, and his family was his world. Steven has reunited with his wife who he missed dearly. Clarice has his ticket, and they are on the heaven bound train. A special thank you to Dr. Yueng and Sue at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Cancer Centre and Catherine and the girls from Paramed Bancroft. Steven’s family will receive family and friends at the M.G. Daly Funeral Home (200 Old Hastings Road, Maynooth) on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. with cremation to follow.
