Peter was raised in Ottawa, where he graduated from the University of Ottawa Medical School. In 1974, he and his beloved wife, Susan, settled in Bancroft, where they raised their three children: Michael, Tara, and Tom. Initially, Peter only intended to stay in Bancroft for a few years, but he fell in love with the community and remained there the rest of his life. Peter devoted 44 years to medical service in Bancroft and its surrounding areas, becoming a cherished member of the community. His commitment extended beyond medicine; he actively participated in numerous organizations and served on various boards throughout his life. He was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Parish for over 50 years, as well as the Cardiff Cluster of Parishes in recent years.

After retiring from medical practice, Peter became a Trustee for the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, furthering his dedication to the community. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished fishing trips with family and friends.

He took great pride in his family, often sharing stories about his beloved grandchildren. Peter's life was centered around his faith, family, friends, community, and service to others. After a long illness, he passed away peacefully at Paudash Lake as the sun rose on September 26, 2024. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Anyone who wishes to make a donation in Peter’s memory is encouraged to consider donating to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Bancroft and/or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Cardiff, the North Hastings Hospital Fund, the Bancroft Pregnancy Care Center or their Local Food Bank.
