Leduc, Mark

Peacefully, at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, on Wednesday, July 22, 2009.  Mark Leduc, age 47, was the loving partner of William Wheeler of Toronto.  Loved son of Yvon Leduc and his wife Helene of Bancroft, and Patricia (Broadhead) Leduc of England.  Loving twin brother of Michelle Johnson (Mark) of Brampton, Margaret Reynolds (Steve) of Texas, Mariette Dunphy (Joe) of Cambridge, Leslie Summit, and the late Steven Parker (Cathy) of Nova Scotia.    Uncle and God-father of Anthony Johnson, and loved uncle of Melany, Colin, Debbie, Justin, Michael, Tanya and John.  Mark will be especially missed by Mary and Michael Wells, Darnell, Malcolm, Michelle, JoJo, Kim-Lee, Bonnie, Brenda and Rodney.  Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, grand-nieces and nephews and many, many friends across Canada.   Mark was a set builder and carpenter for the film industry, as well as a professional boxer.  Mark won the Olympic silver medal for Canada during the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games in Spain, as well as the Canadian Light-Welterweight Title.  Mark was previously employed and volunteered with organizations such as PWA, The United Way and The Cabbagetown Boxing Club. Mark’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Metropolitan Community Church (115 Simpson Ave.,(Riverdale) Toronto) on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.  A Memorial Service for Mark will follow at 10:00 a.m.  Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cabbagetown Boxing Club Youth Programs would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
