Peacefully, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay, on Thursday, March 26, 2009. Bernie Stubbs, of Whitney, age 87, was the beloved husband of the late Catherine (Lavalley) Stubbs (1987). Loved father and father-in-law of the late Bernie Jr. Stubbs (Jackie), Paul Stubbs (Marion) of Whitney, Ethel Birkett-Lavalley (Willy) of Lake St. Peter, and Leona Olmstead of Whitney. Loved grandfather of Lori Switzer, Cory Stubbs, Cathy Stubbs, Wendy Elliott and Charles Olmstead. Survived by 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Brother of Georgina Dawson and Walter Stubbs. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Elizabeth Stubbs, and by his brother Norman and his sisters Essie and Irene. At Bernie’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place at Lakefield Crematorium.
