Allen, aged 82, passed away peacefully and with grace with his family by his side on Saturday, January 21, 2023.  He is survived by beloved wife of 61 years and best friend, Frances, children Heather, Cindy (Rodney), Jennifer, Krista (Gary), George (Wendy), and Leah (Dwayne), sixteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sister Marjorie, and numerous nephews and nieces. Allen was predeceased by his parents (Arthur and Beulah Boyes), son-in-law Dale, siblings Ted, Barry, Shirley, and Marion. Allen was a great husband and father and loved each one of us immensely. His grandchildren were his greatest joy and he loved teaching, teasing, and joking with them. We will miss his laughter, harmonica playing, quick wit, sense of humour, stories, and loving bear hugs.  A man of deep faith, Allen lived his life with love and compassion. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent countless hours in the boat on Bark Lake, in the bush, and sitting under the stars by the campfire. He also loved to travel and took a number of road trips across Canada and the US with Frances.  Born and raised in Sundridge, Ontario, he lived and worked as an electrician in various parts of Ontario, until finally settling in Maple Leaf to open his own business and raise his family. He was well known in the area as a hard worker, loyal friend, great story-teller, fisherman, hunter, and musician.  Allen will be greatly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. Thank you so much to Dr Malinowski and the staff of St Francis Memorial Hospital, and Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care Team, staff, and volunteers, for your care of Allen during his last few days.  Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
