Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Hospice North Hastings, Bancroft, on Wednesday, December 07, 2022. Darlene Storey age 55, was the daughter of the late Bernard and Erma (Card) Storey. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Donald Storey (Eileen), Delbert Storey (Marie), Wilma Spence, Elane Townsend (Don), Betty Bruce (Ken), Glenn Storey (Donna), Garnet Storey (Debbie), Wayne Storey, Elwood Storey (Melanie), Daren Storey (Tanya), and Reginald McCormack. Predeceased by her sisters Gloria and Shirley and her brother-in-law Garry Spence. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Darlene worked for the former IGA Store in town and was a long-time employee with the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Darlene’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School Gymnasium (192 Bridge St. W., Bancroft) on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 12 Noon, with Father Casmir Muobike presiding. Cremation will follow, with interment at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in the spring of 2023. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice North Hastings would be appreciated by the family.
