Suddenly, on Feb 2, 2022, Nathan Nicholas Noah Godfrey in his 34^th year due to a heart attack.  Deeply loved son of Shelley Godfrey and the late Rodger Godfrey.  Beloved soulmate of partner Angela Deknibber and stepfather to Ryan and Lorelei.  Brother to Ben Godfrey, Serena Godfrey (Patrick) and Dillon Godfrey (Cassidy).  Loved Uncle of Bellamy and Dannyelle.  Much loved grandson of Gayle Godfrey (Paul) and the late Arthur VanDusen.  Predeceased by his grandmother Barbara Smith.  Nephew of Ron Smith (Deborah) and Pam deVries (Chris).  Godson of Heather Hudson, and sadly missed by many dear friends.  Nathan was a member of Navy League of Canada Sea Cadets Belleville and Bancroft Branches as a teen earning several promotions and his Sailing Instructor papers.  An avid outdoorsman, Nathan liked fishing and living rough in the woods with his beloved dog Thor by his side, making knives on his homemade forge, collecting unusual rocks and cooking for his family.  He worked a variety of jobs being a jack of all trades before becoming disabled.  He was a huge help to his mother moving home several times to help her with her property.  Nathan embraced the native side of his heritage identifying as a Metis person and worked with several Shamans to help face his challenges.  Special thanks to family and friend to Angela and Nathan, Bobby McQuoid who was teaching him native healing and more.  Nathan faced a lifetime of difficulties and challenges over coming them while never losing his tender heart and ability to love deeply.  His life motto was "I want to leave people and places better than I found them." and he truly did.  Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Nathan’s Life will take place in the spring.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Canadian Heart Research Centre would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
