Acheson, George Webber

Webb (George Webber) Acheson, born April 21, 1930, passed away peacefully in Barrie at The Royal Victoria Health Centre, on November 11, 2021.  Raised in St. Stephen N.B. with his (father) Hazen, (mother) Dorothy, (stepmother) Dorothy and siblings, Harry, Lois, and Clara. He raised his family in Innisfil with his beloved wife Jean(Gina)(predeceased). He will be greatly missed by his sons Allen and Michael (Allyson), Ashley's mom (Leslie) and by his grandchildren Ashley (Darren), Nicholas (Charlotte), Elana (Riley), Foster (Elisha), as well as his great-grandchildren Willow and Abigail. Webb was a kind gentle man whose memory is a blessing. He was a strong, determined, talented, loving family man, who has been a pillar for his family.  He has accomplished so many things in his 91 years. Proudly serving on the Toronto Police Force, building his family a home in Alliston, owning his own company, working for the city of Barrie, flagging in snowmobile races, grading the roads in Innisfil and Algonquin Park. An avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman. Later retiring to Lake St. Peter building a home for his family and friends to enjoy. Eventually settling into Bancroft before finally returning to Innisfil. He has shared his gift of music, starting at the age of 10. He has been an incredible force in the Canadian fiddle world with his passion for playing, teaching, mentoring and wonderfully composing and producing over 550  songs. Webb is highly respected by his fiddle family far and wide as he has been greatly involved as a judge and competitor throughout the years in the fiddle circuit. He was so loved. He will be remembered by us all. His legacy will live on. See you later Papa. We will miss you friend.  Cremation has taken place.  Webb’s family will look forward to a celebration of life at a later date and will notify his fiddle family. Thank you.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to M.G.
