Peacefully at his home in Maynooth on Wednesday June 16, 2021. Vernon Watt, age 73, was the beloved husband of Marion (Prentice) Watt. Loving father of Wanda Cassidy (the late David) of Oshawa. Loved grandfather of Ryan and James Cassidy. Brother of Shirley Livingstone (Cuthbert), Luella Smith (Douglas), Audrey Watt, Lorraine Kelly (Louis),Elvin Watt (Diane). Predeceased by his parents James and Gladys (Chamberlain) Watt, his sister Verna McCormack (Jim), and his brothers Gerald, James (Elizabeth) and Murray (Barbara). Brother-in-law to Delma and Gerald Sleeper. Predeceased by his brother & sister-in-laws Shirley Scott (Merle), Rita Reid (Keith), Julia Sears (Mac), Ken, Don, Floyd and Bill Prentice. Survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Vernon’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Bancroft Pentecostal Tabernacle (311 Hastings St., N., Bancroft) on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike West officiating. Cremation will follow, with interment at Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa. Due to COVID-19, strict visitation and service restrictions will be in place.
