It is with a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear mother Aileen Margaret Gilbert on April 20, 2021 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Aileen was born on January 6, 1951, to Patrick & Lily Gallagher (both deceased). She was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario and eventually settled in Bancroft with her husband and 3 kids. Aileen was married 49 years to her loving husband Don Gilbert. She will be greatly missed by her 3 children, Melanie (Jayme), Adam (Amy) & Michelle (Rodger), as well as her 8 grandchildren, Hannah, Megan, Brady, Paisley, Paige, Sam, Skylar & Beckett. She was a dear sister to John, Jim (Tracy), Mark (predeceased) & Karen (Gary).
After graduating as an RN from St Joseph’s School of Nursing in Peterborough, Aileen dedicated most of her working life to nursing at the North Hastings hospital. She was a dedicated and caring nurse. She also devoted her life to her family. She loved to spoil her kids and grandkids. Later in life she enjoyed her winters in Florida. Aileen was loved and respected by all who knew her. Sláinte.
