Oram, James Wesley Duncan (Wes)

James Wesley Duncan Oram, of Maynooth, formerly Combermere, Ontario passed away on Wednesday May 27, 2020 in his 79th year.  Beloved Husband of Irene (nee Shields) for over 52 years.  Deeply missed by, and devoted father of, his children Jean (Terry), Wesley (Laura), Nolan (Lisa), and proud grandfather of Jesse Laundry, Katie Baumhour, and Tim Baumhour.

Wes and Irene loved where they lived and shared Sand Bay Camp on the beautiful shore of Kamaniskeg Lake with thousands of people over their almost 55 years of business.  His storytelling, humour, wit and twinkling blue eyes will be remembered by all who knew him.  He loved a good prank regardless of if he was the trickster or the one being tricked.  He and Irene welcomed so many and always made them feel at home.

Wes believed in his community and was of service for many years as a volunteer firefighter, municipal councilor, tourist association member and much more.

He taught his children to work hard but to balance that with enjoying all the area had to offer.  He loved hunting, fishing, cutting wood with his sons and grandsons, making maple syrup, riding in his ranger, trips to the north and to Algonquin Park and he had countless stories from all his adventures.

Professional services entrusted to Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.  A private graveside service for family will take place at Purdy Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers a donation to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would be appreciated by the family.  (Cards available at the funeral home (613) 338-3259 or e-mail condolences to This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it or visit www.mgdalyfuneralhome.com).
