Donald Gordon Ferguson, August 31, 1927 – July 13, 2019. Peacefully, at Hastings Centennial Manor, Bancroft, on Saturday, Donald Ferguson, formerly of Maynooth, was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Betty) (Young) (2014). Loving father of Liana (Gary) MacDuff, Daniel, Maggie (The late Clinton). Brother of Iris Dredge. Brother-in-Law of James Ferguson (Sandra), Jean Bancroft (Murray), Marion Mason (Bob), Ron (the late Gail) Wilson and Sharon (the late Johnny) Young. Awesome Grampa to grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and a true friend to all he knew. Predeceased by his father William Ferguson and mother Agnes, brothers James, John, Bill, sisters Mary and Marg, daughter Starr (The late Wayne) Carswell, his sons Charlie, Clinton and Barry. As per Donald’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place.
Donald lived a full 92 years of life on earth, always being kind, considerate, loving and honest. His pride of family, friends and mankind was always shown. He has shown each and everyone of us who has had the honour to know him, listened and absorbed how he lived in his time with us can follow his actions and know we had a great teacher. That life is simple, values of love, of mankind which we can be the best we can be everyday. Donald’s humour and caring of others, has taught us all and set the best example to a great life. Donald’s last years with us has been spent hoping to be with Betty, which now his wishes have been answered. We can all be so HAPPY FOR HIM! May his Love and Caring spread to us all as now he is happy on the other side. REST IN PEACE DONALD!
The family of Donald would like to thank everyone at the Centennial Manor Bancroft for the caring and loving way they treated my dad while he stayed with you. We are forever grateful.
