Edward Sands Kayes, a great Irish man was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland to parents Albert Victor Kayes and Lillie Ellen Millar and “wee” brother to William, Bertie, George, Gretta, Iris and Esther.  Years later he married his best friend and companion Georgia (Tennant) for 48yrs of the most wonderful, amazing and exciting years full of many trip/travels, many laughs and ALWAYS up for an adventure no matter where it took them or what they did as long as they were together.  Getting to share the love of these two amazing and devoted parents are Trevor, Tanya and the most loved his Nicole, along with her husband Kevin and doting Poppa to Jordyn and Caiden Foster.  Ed lived his life with compassion, intent, much love for all that knew him, could do and build anything that was asked of him and wore many, many hats during his working years and into retirement.  Respecting Ed/Dad’s wishes there will be no service.  All that we ask is to remember the good times, good laughs and all your awesome memories of Ed/Dad, that is what he would have wanted.  Ed/Dad remains in our family’s hearts never forgotten, never faded, and always present.  Ed/Dad passed on May 18, 2018 in Kingston General Hospital.  Cremation has taken place and ashes will be scattered at Ed/Dad’s favourite place in the world his lighthouse in Donnaghadee, Northern Ireland.  Donations can be made to Kingston General Hospital ICU in Ed/Dad’s memory.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to M.G Daly Funeral Home Maynooth, ON.
