Peter J. Williams, 86, husband of the late Rosemary Williams (Guttin) of Madawaska, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the North Hastings Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his four children, Catherine Armstrong (Brant), Jim Williams (Jennifer), Christine Williams-Piper, and Scott Williams (Brittany); seven grandchildren, Drew, Trefor and Lydia Armstrong, Sarah and Samantha Williams, Darby and Olivia Piper; and sister Shirley.
Peter had a long sales career in the paper industry where he established many life-long friendships. He was passionate about pigeon racing, horse racing, baseball and basketball.
Orchestrating his own departure, Peter “went out with the storm” as he humorously said he would. Special thanks to friends and neighbours, nurse Cortnee, Dr. Brown, and the outstanding hospital staff for their exceptional and compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place and at Peter’s request, there will be no visitation or service but all are welcome to visit him at the Belleville Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to the QHC North Hastings Hospital in Bancroft or to the Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth.
