Sam passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his parents and two big sisters, after a brave battle with Tay-Sachs disease, on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the age of 6 years 4 months. Son of Jerry and Micheline (Brisson) Leveque. Brother of Gabrielle and Holly. Great-grandson of Jeannette Boudreau, and grandson of Denis and Nicole Brisson, Carmel Leveque, and the late Jack Leveque. Nephew of Uncle Tim and Aunt Kelly Leveque, and Uncle Serge and Aunt Nicole Brisson. Cousin of Riana Leveque, and Kyle and Cory Brisson. Missed by Sam’s “Joan” (Fitzgerald) who selflessly gave so much to our family that words could never describe, and Sam’s adoptive Uncle Paul and Aunt Suzy Shalla, and cousins Matthew and Emmett Shalla. Sam’s bravery never ceased to amaze everyone around him. He never complained. Was always able to give us a smile when we needed it most. It was through these simple moments that he taught us what being a family is all about and how to love unconditionally. Although Sam never spoke a word, he showed his love and emotions through his eyes and with his smiles. Sam has taught us more in his six years than any family could hope to know in a lifetime. Although short, his life was filled with an abundance of love and Sam will be forever remembered as our little man, Sambo and Bubba. Sam’s family will receive relatives and friends at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church (51 Hwy 127, Maynooth) on Sunday, June 12th from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass of the Angels will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Jim Beanish presiding. Interment St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Cemetery, Maynooth. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Roger’s House or The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) would be appreciated by the family.
